About This Job

Overview

  • Safely operate company delivery vehicles (truck/van) to transport products to customer locations according to assigned routes and schedules.
  • Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Load and unload products from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage or spoilage.
  • Verify delivery orders against invoices to ensure accuracy of products and quantities.
  • Handle invoices, obtain customer signatures, and maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Collect payments where required, including cash handling, and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle.
  • Report any delivery discrepancies, vehicle issues, or customer concerns to the Logistics Coordinators or Warehouse and Distribution Manager promptly.
  • Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after each shift, reporting any defects, damage, or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to optimize delivery schedules and fuel consumption.
  • Use GPS systems, route planning software, and company delivery applications as required.
  • Secure loads correctly to prevent movement or damage during transit.
  • Collect any returns as required and as supported by paperwork.
  • Check all delivered orders as per invoice and any collected returns as per GRN.
  • Ensure products are stored and transported in accordance with company quality and safety standards.
  • Safeguard company assets, products, cash, and documentation while in transit.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers.
  • Resolve minor delivery issues on-site and escalate more complex concerns to management when necessary.
  • Represent the company positively at all customer locations.
  • Adhere to company health and safety procedures when loading, unloading, and handling products.
  • Use appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment to minimize the risk of injury.
  • Assist with picking, packing, sorting, and preparing orders when required.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on a shift basis (including evenings/weekends as required)
  • Willingness to work overtime based on operational needs
  • Must have own transport for reliable attendance
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling in varying temperature environments
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining safety and quality standards
  • Can read, write, communicate clearly in Maltese or English
  • Driving licence C and Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
