Overview

Lead and coordinate airline catering logistics to ensure timely, compliant, and cost‑effective delivery of catering services across assigned flights and partners. Work closely with operations, vendors, and airline clients to maintain high service standards and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities

- Daily Operations Management: Plan, schedule, and monitor catering deliveries for inbound/outbound flights; ensure on-time handovers and accurate load counts.

- Vendor & Supplier Coordination: Liaise with catering suppliers and ground handling teams to confirm orders, resolve discrepancies, and enforce service level agreements.

- Quality & Compliance: Ensure catering items meet airline specifications, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements; manage documentation and audits.

- Inventory Control: Track stock levels, shortages, and wastage; initiate replenishment and manage surplus disposition.

- Flight Administration: Prepare and verify flight paperwork, load sheets, manifests, and special requests (e.g., special meals, VIP, dietary requirements).

- Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve operational incidents (missing/incorrect items, delays, contamination) and implement corrective actions.

- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with airline representatives, airport authorities, and internal teams to update on schedule changes and operational impacts.

- Cost Management & Reporting: Monitor costs, identify efficiencies, and produce operational reports and performance metrics.

- Continuous Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance reliability, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.

- On‑site Presence: Be available for on-site coordination during peak operations, irregular operations, and service disruptions.

Skills & Qualifications

- Education: Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, hospitality management, or related field preferred.

- Experience: 1–3 years’ experience in airline catering operations, airport ground handling, or logistics coordination at an associate level.

- Languages: Full professional proficiency in English; working knowledge of Maltese desirable.

- Technical Skills: Strong MS Office (Excel) skills; experience with catering/airline management systems or ERP is an advantage.

- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with aviation security, airport procedures, HACCP/food safety standards, and EASA/ICAO related requirements where applicable.

- Personal Attributes: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work under pressure.

- Communication & Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills for vendor negotiation and cross-functional collaboration.

- Availability: Flexible to work shifts, early mornings, weekends, and respond to operational irregularities.
