The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the company's warehouse, retail outlets, guesthouse, and other off-site locations. This is a hands-on role that combines practical maintenance work with team coordination, ensuring all facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard while managing maintenance personnel and responding promptly to operational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out general maintenance, repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance across the company's warehouse, retail outlets, guesthouse, and other off-site properties.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on the company's fleet of vehicles to minimise breakdowns and downtime.
  • Maintain, organise, and ensure the proper upkeep of maintenance tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety standards.

  • Attend construction sites as required, carry out maintenance-related works, and provide regular progress updates to management.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance requests received via email and internal software, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and allocated appropriately within the team.
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring workloads are managed effectively and projects are completed on time.
  • Assist with the installation, setup, and maintenance of fixtures, fittings, and furnishings across company premises.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a general maintenance role, ideally within a commercial, retail, hospitality, or facilities management environment.
  • Hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
  • Previous experience supervising or coordinating maintenance teams would be considered an asset.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures and safe working practices.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience using email and task management software.
  • Ability to work independently while also leading and supporting a team.
  • A valid driving licence is essential.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Practical, reliable, and hands-on with a strong work ethic.
  • Proactive and able to identify and resolve maintenance issues before they escalate.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Well-organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across multiple locations and respond to urgent maintenance requirements.
  • Committed to delivering high-quality work while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

The selected candidate will join a stable and growing organisation, playing a key role in maintaining the company's facilities and supporting its day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional looking to take on a supervisory role within a dynamic environment, offering long-term career stability and a competitive remuneration package.
