Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a reliable and professional Maintenance Technician to join our team at Mercure St. Julian’s Malta. If you enjoy working in a dynamic hospitality environment and providing excellent guest service, this role is for you.

Job Requirements:

Preventive Maintenance

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house and equipment.
• Inspect HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical systems.
• Conduct room PMs including testing lights, sockets, AC performance, drains, appliances, and safety devices.

2. Repairs & Troubleshooting

• Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
• Troubleshoot and repair issues related to:
• Electrical systems (lighting, sockets, breakers)
• Plumbing (leaks, clogged drains, toilets)
• HVAC (filters, thermostats, coil cleaning)
• Carpentry (doors, locks, Minor furniture Fixtures)
• Painting and finishing
• Escalate complex issues to senior technician or manager when needed.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all hotel safety, security, and fire-prevention protocols.
• Ensure equipment rooms, workshop, and mechanical areas remain organized and safe.
• Assist with testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, and safety systems.
• Comply with local regulations and environmental standards.

4. Operational Support

• Perform daily property walk-throughs to identify issues.
• Assist with pool maintenance, water testing, filters, pumps.
• Support major projects, renovations, contractor visits, and system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate logs and reports for maintenance work, equipment usage, and parts inventory.

5. Guest Service

• Provide friendly, professional service when entering guest rooms.
• Ensure minimal disruption to guests while carrying out tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow hotel guest privacy standards.
