About This Job
AIMS International is assisting one of our clients, a well established Law Firm in Malta, with recruiting a Senior Associate Lawyer - TMT and IP Law.
The TMT and IP Law Department specialises in technology law and provides legal advice to blue-chip clients across the full spectrum of technology, media, telecommunications, and intellectual property matters. The department's work encompasses data protection, technology and outsourcing agreements, intellectual property protection, enforcement and management, EU digital regulations (including the AI Act and the Digital Services Act), as well as computer crime and gaming matters.
We are seeking a Senior Associate ready to take ownership of complex matters and play a leading role in the continued growth of the department. This is a role for an ambitious, results-driven and technology-savvy lawyer who wants to operate at the frontier of where law meets technology.
Responsibilities:
-
Run sophisticated advisory and contentious matters from end to end, across both regulatory and transactional work, with the autonomy and commercial judgement expected of a senior practitioner;
-
Act as a trusted adviser to international operators in sectors including iGaming, technology, automotive, pharmaceuticals, telecoms and media;
-
Develop and lead one or more areas of specialisation within the department, whether in data protection, intellectual property and IP management, gaming regulation, artificial intelligence and EU digital regulation or technology contracts;
-
Mentor and develop junior members of the team, and help shape the department's knowledge, processes and use of legal technology;
-
Build your external profile through publications, speaking engagements and contributions to comparative guides and the firm's TMT series.
Requirements:
-
Be fully warranted and have at least five years' post-qualification experience in TMT, IP or a related field (an LL.M. or relevant specialist qualification will be considered favourably);
-
Have demonstrable expertise in one or more of the department's core areas;
-
Be able to work independently and under pressure, be results-oriented, and have a keen interest in legal and technological developments with a view to growing one's own profile and that of the firm.
