Senior Child Carer

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Child Carer to join our Zugraga Childcare Services team. This role suits someone passionate about early childhood education, who enjoys supporting colleagues, and is ready to take on leadership responsibilities within the centre.

What We're Offering

💶 Salary €24,000 to €28,000 per annum

🎯 Performance Bonus Up to €3,000 annually

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the childcare centre and assist the Childcare Centre Manager in maintaining high standards of care and education
• Act as deputy to the Childcare Centre Manager, assuming operational responsibility during periods of absence
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to Child Carers and Childcare Helpers
• Monitor compliance with centre policies, safeguarding procedures, health and safety requirements, and quality standards
• Plan, implement, and oversee age-appropriate activities that support children's learning and development
• Observe and assess children's progress, supporting individual learning plans where required
• Maintain positive relationships with parents and families, ensuring effective communication and engagement
• Assist with staff onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives
• Support the management of incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and operational matters
• Liaise regularly with the Childcare Centre Manager on staffing, parent concerns, and centre operations

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Childcare or a related field Level 4
• Relevant experience working within a childcare setting
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to lead by example and support colleagues in maintaining high standards
• Good understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety requirements
• A positive, professional, and solution-oriented approach
