AIMS International Malta is assisting our client, a company operating within the Corporate Services industry, with recruiting a Senior Tax Manager – Client Accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery and review of corporate and personal tax compliance services, ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide tax advisory support on tax planning, structuring, risk management, and other client-specific matters.
- Manage a mature and diversified client portfolio while delivering a high standard of service.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, ensuring policies, procedures, and tax positions remain up to date and compliant.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders on tax-related matters.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and trusted advisory support.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the tax team through coaching, technical training, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Support the continued growth and development of the tax function while promoting excellence and continuous improvement.
- Review tax computations, returns, and advisory work to ensure technical accuracy and quality.
- Provide guidance on complex tax matters and support the resolution of technical issues.
- Contribute to the leadership team by supporting strategic initiatives and maintaining high professional standards across the tax practice.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant or holder of an equivalent professional qualification.
- Further specialisation in taxation, such as a Master’s in Taxation, ADIT, MIT, or a similar qualification, will be considered an asset.
- Proven experience in tax compliance and tax advisory services, including both direct and indirect taxation.
- Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
- Sound knowledge of Maltese tax legislation and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax matters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring, coaching, and developing team members.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- High ethical standards, sound professional judgement, and a commitment to quality, corporate governance, and continuous improvement.
- Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant accounting and tax software.
- Fluency in both English and Maltese.
- Proactive, client-focused, and capable of delivering high-quality solutions and advisory services.
